Get Eat Right Nutritional Therapy

The Basis of Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. As a Nutritional Therapist, I use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows me to work with individuals to address nutritional balance and help support the body towards maintaining health.

Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine. It is relevant both for individuals looking to enhance their health and wellbeing and for those with chronic conditions. If you suffer from a health condition such as...

  • Allergies and asthma,

  • Arthritis,

  • Diabetes,

  • Digestive problems,

  • Eczema and other skin problems,

  • Fatigue,

  • Fertility problems,

  • Food intolerances,

  • Frequent colds and viruses,

  • Headaches, migraines,

  • High blood pressure,

  • Hormonal disorders,

  • IBS,

  • Mood swings,

  • Obesity and weight problems,

  • Osteoporosis,

  • PMS, period pains,

  • Stress & anxiety,

  • or want to improve your sports performance

... changing your diet and lifestyle can have a big impact.

I consider each individual to be unique and recommend Personalized Nutrition and Lifestyle Programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. I never recommend Nutritional Therapy as a replacement for medical advice and always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their medical professional. I will also frequently work alongside a medical professional and will communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the client’s care to explain any Nutritional Therapy Programme that has been provided.

Initial Nutrition Assessment

Upon booking your appointment, a welcome pack will be sent to you via email, including Health Questionnaire, as well as 3 Day Diet & Lifestyle Diary, which need to be completed before the consultation. During the initial 1 hour long consultation, I take a detailed case history, building on the information from the questionnaire. I will ask you detailed questions about your current health concerns, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, medical history, family history, lifestyle, levels of physical activity, use of medication and supplements and diet.

After the Initial Nutrition Assessment, I will evaluate your individual needs and use the extensive evidence base for nutritional science to develop a personalised, safe and effective Nutrition and Lifestyle Programme.

You will receive your Nutrition & Lifestyle Plan and Supplement Recommendations by email within 48 hours. This will include:

  • therapeutic food focus explanation, suggesting the foods that might be helpful in alleviating your symptoms, as well as pointing to the foods that may be stopping you from getting better;

  • sample meals and snack ideas;

  • lifestyle recommendations tailored to suit you;

  • supplement recommendations with a 25% client discount.

At that point, we can schedule a phone call or Face Time/ Skype conversation at no extra charge if anything is unclear and you need an explanation.

The payment for consultations is required at least 24 hours in advance (via bank transfer). You can make a booking via email or over the phone, whatever method is better for you.

Any functional laboratory testing is not included in the price of the consultations. It may not be necessary, but in some cases it could help us to gain a more complete understanding of specific biological systems and discover the root of the problem.  I work with Biolab, and Genova Diagnostics laboratories, which provide with the latest in clinical information, and I am able to offer a comprehensive menu of diagnostic tests at a discounted price.

I also work with Lorisian food intolerance testing services that has over 30 years’ experience,  specialising in laboratory tests that measure food triggers (food-specific IgG antibodies).

Follow-up Consultation

Follow-up consultations are booked in at the end of your initial consultation and last up to 45 minutes. These are used to monitor progress, make any necessary adjustments and evaluate test results. We usually schedule a follow-up consultation 4 - 6 weeks after the initial assessment.

Further follow-ups may be required depending on each individual situation.
